Why I built Biu
Brazil has around 11 million functionally illiterate adults. That is not a stat you read and forget — it is a reality that shapes entire lives. People who cannot read a bus schedule, fill out a job application, or understand a work contract. The job market is not designed for them, and neither is most technology.
I started building Biu because I kept asking myself a simple question: if multimodal AI can understand images, speech, and text simultaneously, why are we only using it to summarize emails and generate marketing copy? The people who would benefit the most from an intelligent assistant — people who literally cannot read the interface — are the ones being ignored.
Biu works by combining audio generation, speech recognition, and large language models into an agent that meets users where they are. A simple audio conversation builds resumes and help these people tell their professional stories.
